Yep! Or in his words, "Heck yeah they are." He first cooked them in his own kitchen, then started testing cooking them at larger quantities with the help of our kitchen team in Brooklyn. Once the exact recipe was taste-test approved by him for cooking at scale, our teams get trained in making it just right. He decides any adjustments the recipes may need, and then we do it again.
Since Babish lives in and develops his recipes in New York, he's working from there first. Our meals are shipped fresh so we currently have partial coverage of 18 states/territories: CT, DC, DE, KY, MA, MD, ME, NC, NH, NJ, NY, OH, PA, RI, SC, VA, VT, and WV. More coverage on the East Coast coming over the next couple of weeks and he will be coming to the Southwest, Midwest, and West Coast after that.
Sorry! Babish lives in and developed his recipes in New York, so we started with our Brooklyn kitchen to distribute them. The meals are only available to zip codes that we can deliver to from New York while keeping them fresh. We're working to expand our New York delivery radius now. If you're not on the East Coast, he’ll be coming to our Chicago kitchen next, and more cities in the West and Southwest after that.
Given that the meals are made fresh by hand, there is a limited capacity that we are able to produce in a given day. We are working as quickly as we can to expand Babish’s operations in New York, and to bring it to additional kitchens across the US as well. Stay tuned. Pro tip: try ordering for a future week! Yes. For a limited time, you can purchase the Binging with Babish meals through his storefront here. The cost of the meals is higher outside of a subscription plan, and you still must purchase at least 2 to reduce packaging and delivery waste.
If you previously created an account for Babish's CookUnity storefront, you'll need to use a new email address to sign up for a standard CookUnity subscription. That's a private page he only shared with his fans, and it's a fully custom website and ordering flow. Support can also help you if you'd like to move that email over to a new subscription.
CookUnity pricing is flexible based on your plan size. Meals start at about $11 per serving, and you can choose between 4 and 16 meals per week. The more meals you order, the lower your cost per meal. All non-premium meals range from around $15 per serving for a 4-meal plan to $11 per serving for a 16-meal plan. The cost of the Binging with Babish meals outside of subscription is $15.99.
They are fresh! All of our Chefs are against freezing their meals as this may compromise the taste, texture, and overall freshness of the dish. Since we don't use artificial or chemical preservatives, the meals will have a refrigerated shelf life of about 3-7 days.
